General
- I had an account on the old website, do I need to make a new one?

Yes, you’ll need to create your new account with us! Don’t worry, we’ve made signing up smoother than a fresh layer of paint on a canvas. Just follow these steps in the below video, and you’ll be Picasso-ing in no time!
- What is a night at Pinot & Picasso like?
-
We focus on fun art, not fine art. We are a relaxing, beginner-friendly sip and paint experience where our artists will guide you step-by-step through the artwork you so cleverly booked in to paint. With BYO* options, you choose the pace of your night in our relaxing yet fun studio environment. With all art materials provided, just arrive with your own drinks and snacks and let’s see what happens. Sessions will run between 2-3 hours, so get comfortable!
*Excluding the Taranaki studio as of 26/7/24 where there is a bar to purchase your beverages or a small corkage fee will apply.
- What is included in the cost of the session?

The price per session includes everything you’ll need to create your masterpiece (except whatever you’ll be drinking).
You’ll have all the necessary equipment provided, including:
- A blank canvas
- Acrylic paints
- Brushes
- Table easel
- Pinot & Picasso apron to use
- Glassware for your beverages (most importantly)
All Pinot & Picasso sessions include guidance from one of our artists to assist you in releasing your inner Picasso. The only thing you’ll need to bring is your favourite bottle of vino*, some nibbles and your imagination.
*Excluding the Taranaki studio where there is a bar to purchase your beverages as of 26/7/24
- Should I make a booking in advance?

Bookings are essential at Pinot & Picasso. We have limited spots available, so booking in advance is more than necessary. We book out sometimes months in advance, so get in quick!
- Are children allowed at the session?
-
All participants in Pinot & Picasso public events must be 18 and over. School holiday events and private functions are a completely different kettle of fish (or bucket of paint). Any all-age events will be advertised accordingly. Look out for the tags for Family Friendly, Kids and All Ages on the session details!
- What is the Pinot Guarantee?

We understand that life gets the better of you sometimes – say hello to the Pinot Guarantee.
For just $4.95 per ticket the Pinot Guarantee:
- Provides you with the option to reschedule or cancel your tickets at any time.
- Allows you 1 free change before normal rebooking fees are incurred.
- Waives all $25 fees for rescheduling and cancelling tickets.
Exclusions:
- Doesn’t allow for grazing boards to be rescheduled or cancelled within 48 hours of the session commencing. The cost of the grazing boards will then be forfeited.
- Doesn’t apply to private functions.
- Doesn’t allow you to reschedule after the session has already commenced.
- Doesn’t apply to Gift Cards. If you do purchase Pinot Guarantee on a Gift Card, you can request a refund for the cost of the Pinot Guarantee.
For cancellations with the Pinot Guarantee, the full amount of your tickets minus the Pinot Guarantee cost will be refunded.

- What is happening with Pinot & Picasso's branding?

Pinot & Picasso is currently undergoing an exciting rebranding initiative. This includes changes to our branding, website, and studio environment. The rebranding process is ongoing, and our studios have not yet been fully rebranded. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we enhance your experience with us.
- Will there be any changes to Pinot & Picasso's studios?

Yes, during the rebranding process, you may notice updates in our studio environment. This is part of our efforts to improve and modernise our identity. Please be aware that our studios have not yet been fully rebranded, and this process will take some time.
- How long will the rebranding process take?

Rebranding is a gradual process, much like fine wine takes time to mature. We cannot provide an exact timeline, but we assure you that we are working diligently to complete it as soon as possible. Please continue to check back for updates.
- Where can I find updates about the rebranding process?

We will be providing updates on our website and through our communication channels. Please keep an eye out for any announcements and changes. If you have any specific questions, feel free to contact us directly.
Sessions
- What time should I arrive and how long are the sessions?

We recommend arriving at the studio 10 minutes before the session commences as to give you plenty of time to get comfortable, set up, and get the wines flowing. The estimated running time is between 2 – 3hrs.
- I'm running late, is that okay?
-
Of course, these things happen! Please don’t feel you need to panic call the studio 100 times, our artists will be busy being the hostess with the mostess and would have started to provide the group art steps. To ensure the session isn’t interrupted, please just arrive when you can and we will catch you up during the next paint-drying break.
- If I come with a friend, will we be sitting together?

We will always do our best to ensure that groups are placed together.
If you and your friends are booking separately, it’s best to arrive a little earlier to ensure we can seat your group together. We like to operate under the mantra ‘first in best dressed’ when it comes to seating in our sip and paint studios.
If you have any other special requests please put the details into the booking notes! We want everyone to have the best experience possible at Pinot & Picasso.
- What do I wear to a night at Pinot & Picasso?

We like to keep our arty parties fun and exciting. Whether you choose to dress up, make your sip and paint a theme, or just attend for a date night on the weekend we expect you to wear what feels comfortable. As our experience does involve paint (shocking! I hope we mentioned this earlier) we do encourage you to not wear anything you would be disappointed if paint ended up on, or couldn’t be dry cleaned. Our artists will provide you with aprons to wear during the session to minimise any accidental paint mistakes.
- Do we have to copy the host’s artwork exactly?

Not at all – we are a creative art studio after all!
We’re all about helping you release your inner Picasso. We like to think of our step-by-step instructions to be more of a guide.
- Can I purchase any alcohol at Pinot & Picasso?
-
Pinot & Picasso is BYO only! (exception is our Taranaki studio where you can purchase alcohol in the studio). We don’t sell any alcoholic drinks in studio, so it’s important to remember to bring your favourite bottle with you!
If you do happen to forget – we’ll be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
- Can we bring any type of alcohol?

We are bring your own (BYO*), but this doesn’t mean we aren’t responsible servers of alcohol (RSA). We are an inclusive, safe environment and non-alcoholic or alcohol options are welcomed unless advised in the session’s descriptions. So, bring the naughty water of your choice; wine, seltzers, bubbles, beer, and pre-mixed drinks – but leave the Belvedere and José at home.
*Excluding the Taranaki studio as of 26/7/24, where there is a bar to purchase your beverages. - Can we BYO our own nibbles or food?

Yes! We strongly encourage everyone to have a little food to eat while they sip and paint! Bring yourself some nibbles, or let us do the hard work for you with one of our hand-crafted, locally sourced grazing boards courtesy of one of our catering partners.
- Is there a fridge and glassware?

Yes, our Pinot & Picasso studios all have a fridge inside their studio to keep drinks cold! We also have glassware too so no need to bring plastic cups!
- What happens if my session is cancelled?
-
In the rare event that a public session is cancelled, the ticket purchaser will be notified via email or text message no later than 24 hours prior to their session scheduled start time.
Ticket purchasers will be offered a reschedule to another upcoming session, a studio credit to the value of their purchase for future use or a refund.
- Do you provide alcohol or food?

In our studios, we are BYO drinks (excluding Taranaki) and food and provide fridge space, glassware and bottle openers.. Make sure you check which type of Pinot & Picasso experience you book in for, and if you are confused please reach out to your local studio and they will be happy to help.
- Can you hold onto my painting?
-
While we would love to hold onto all the masterpieces and sell them on Etsy, many of our studios have limited storage space. Some studios may hold artworks for a week, however after that, they will look to donate the canvas to local charities and organisations. If you’ve left your artwork behind be sure to get in touch with the studio to arrange collection!
Artworks left behind are left at your own risk, we do our best to keep them safe however unfortunately they may be damaged or misplaced.
Private Functions
- Can I host a private party or function at Pinot & Picasso?

Of course you can! Pinot & Picasso sees private functions of all types: kids, birthdays, hens parties and team building, but we can create bespoke paint parties outside of these to suit your request. We have an entire page dedicated to private parties and the steps you can take to book these in. Please view our private functions if you’re interested in finding out more. Please note that each studio will have different minimum requirements for Private Functions so be sure to get in touch with them directly!
- What if I can’t meet the minimum requirements?

We don’t want you to miss out on the fun. You can join our public sessions with your group and still celebrate!
Any transaction with 8 or more tickets is eligible for a 10% discount – use GROUPBOOKINGS in the coupon code area at checkout. More money for snacks and wine!
- What if I need to cancel my private function booking?

Private Function deposits are non-refundable. In the event you need to reschedule your Private Function, the deposit can be transferred to an alternate date that is suitable to yourself and Pinot & Picasso studio.
If the full amount has been paid & there is more than 2 weeks before the session date, we can reschedule your private function to another date that is suitable for yourself & also the Pinot & Picasso studio.
We are unable to refund or reschedule private functions within the 2 weeks before your session date. The full amount will be forfeited. We hope this never has to happen.
Pinot Guarantee does not apply to Private Functions. If you have accidentally purchased it with your Private Function, we are more than happy to refund the Pinot Guarantee fee at your request.
Payments & Bookings
- Once I have booked, what happens next?

Once your order has been processed, you will be sent a confirmation email confirming your order and you will be given some information regarding your session.
We suggest adding your Pinot & Picasso session to your personal calendar as a reminder!
- Can I have a discount?

There will be sneaky discount codes from time to time, but you have to be part of the email gang – so head to the website and sign up! Don’t worry spam is not our jam.
Any transactions with 8 or more tickets are eligible for a 10% discount – use GROUPBOOKINGS in the coupon code area at checkout. More money for snacks and wine!
- What are the different payment options online?

We accept all major credit cards including American Express, as well as PayPal and Afterpay.
- Can I make a booking in person?
-
Unfortunately, this is something we aren’t able to facilitate at the moment. To ensure you don’t miss out on a ticket to the session of your choice, we recommend purchasing your tickets as soon as possible and purchasing Pinot Guarantee at checkout to cover you if plans change and you need to reschedule. Pinot Guarantee has its own T&Cs, please read these carefully before booking.
- What if I need to cancel or reschedule my booking?

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way, which is why we’re happy to cancel or reschedule your booking for $25 non-negotiable fee* per transaction up to 48-hours before your scheduled session time.
If cancelling or rescheduling within that 48-hour window, a $25 non-negotiable fee* per ticket will be applied.
Grazing boards:
Grazing boards cannot be rescheduled or cancelled within the 48-hour window. If you cancel or reschedule your session within this 48-hour window, the cost of your grazing board will be forfeited.Rescheduling:
When rescheduling your Pinot & Picasso session,, you will need to choose your next most convenient session date that is available or we can provide a credit towards a future booking (minus the rebooking fee).Important: We are very strict on ‘no shows’. If you don’t show up for the class, we’ll still charge you the full amount. We are unable to refund, reschedule or provide credit for a missed session.
- Unless you’ve purchased the Pinot Guarantee at time of booking.
- Pinot Guarantee cannot be used to reschedule/cancel after the session has already commenced.
6 or More Tickets Purchased:
For bookings of 6+ tickets, there will be a $25 non-negotiable fee per ticket to cancel or reschedule at any time.Private Functions:
Private Function deposits are non-refundable.If the full amount has been paid and there is more than 2 weeks before the session date, we can reschedule your private function to another date that is suitable for yourself & also the Pinot & Picasso studio.

- Can I purchase a gift voucher for Pinot & Picasso?

Again, absolutely! We provide vouchers for $39, $65, $75, $79, $130, $180 and $240 which can be credited towards an upcoming session at one of our studios*.
We don’t provide physical Gift Cards, but vouchers can be emailed to either the purchaser or the recipient at a time and date of your choosing. All gift cards are valid for 3 years from time of purchase.

- Will my session ever be cancelled?

In the rare event that a public session is cancelled, the ticket purchaser will be notified via email or text message no later than 24 hours prior to their session scheduled start time.
Ticket purchasers will be offered a reschedule to another upcoming sessions or credited the value of their purchase for future use.
- Are Gift Vouchers refundable?

Here are a few troubleshooting tips for using gift cards:
- If you are redeeming an Exclusive Gift Card, ensure you are redeeming at the studio it was purchased for. Flexi Gift Cards can be redeemed at any studio.
- Ensure your Gift Card still has a remaining balance.
- Ensure there are no spaces between or after the numbers
- Ensure the dashes (-) are entered
- If you have followed the above steps and the gift card still does not work, quit your browser and restart your session. You may need to try a different browser such as Google Chrome or Firefox.
- Please contact hello@pinotandpicasso.nz for any further assistance.
- My Gift Card was purchased on your old website, can I still access this?

If you purchased a Gift Card on our old website, please send an email to the studio for which the voucher was made exclusively for. Once you get in touch with the studio, you will be issued with a new coupon code to put towards a session on our new website.
- I didn't receive my gift card email?

Sometimes our emails end up in spam – check there.
