Sip and Paint | Pinot & Picasso Wellington CBD
The Studio
Come and enjoy a friendly, fun, and artistic space in our Pinot & Picasso Wellington CBD studio! The perfect environment to catch up with your nearest and dearest friends, family, and colleagues – no matter the event, we’re the destination for you.
Here in the Wellington CBD we are known for our beautiful Xoe Hall Mural! The arts are massive in Wellington and we are ecstatic to be right in the center of it all! With two rooms in our sip and paint studio, including a small room for 10 to 14 people and a large room for more than 15 people, we can do it all!
There’s no painting experience needed at our sip and paint studio in the Wellington CBD. We’ll take you through each step of the process to create your own masterpiece. We only have two rules: be kind to yourself and others, and have a great time!

Nicole & Josh
A husband and wife team, and local Wellingtonians, Nicole and Josh decided to open the Wellington studio together to spread the love of sip and paint to everyone in the Wellington CBD. Their goal is to encourage adults to pick up a paint brush again and to remember how fun, relaxing and good for the soul, a paint session can be.
FAQ
- Where are you located?
-
Right off the Terrace Tunnel, you will find our Pinot & Picasso Wellington CBD studio on the corner block of Victoria and Ghuznee Steet (across the road from the LAB).
- Can I purchase alcoholic beverages near the studio?
-
You can purchase right in our sip and paint studio! We are fully licensed so we sell beer, wine and cider onsite!
We are also BYO with the limits of 1 bottle of wine or 4 standard drinks per person.
- Are there local restaurants and bars nearby?
-
Located in the heart of the city, we are a 2-minute walk to Cuba Street for amazing restaurants and bars. Some of our favourites include Mr Go’s, Floriditas, Tequila Joe’s, Jano Bistro, Minibar, Vinyl Bar, and Hanging Ditch.
- Do you offer catering?
-
HELL Pizza on Cuba Street has a catering menu for our studio, or we have a local company that can cater cheese boards. Get in touch with us for more information!
- What are your parking options?
-
We recommend street parking or a Wilson Parking lot just down the road.
- What time should I arrive and how long are the sessions?
-
We recommend arriving at the studio 10 minutes before the session commences as to give you plenty of time to get comfortable, set up, and get the wines flowing. The estimated running time is between 2 – 3hrs.
- If I come with a friend, will we be sitting together?
-
We will always do our best to ensure that groups are placed together.
If you and your friends are booking separately, it’s best to arrive a little earlier to ensure we can seat your group together. We like to operate under the mantra ‘first in best dressed’ when it comes to seating in our sip and paint studios.
If you have any other special requests please put the details into the booking notes! We want everyone to have the best experience possible at Pinot & Picasso. - What do I wear to a night at Pinot & Picasso?
-
We like to keep our arty parties fun and exciting. Whether you choose to dress up, make your sip and paint a theme, or just attend for a date night on the weekend we expect you to wear what feels comfortable. As our experience does involve paint (shocking! I hope we mentioned this earlier) we do encourage you to not wear anything you would be disappointed if paint ended up on. Or couldn’t be dry-cleaned. Our artists will provide you with aprons to wear during the session to minimise any accidental paint mistakes.
- Is there a fridge & glassware?
-
Yes, our Pinot & Picasso studios all have a fridge inside their studio to keep drinks cold! We also have glassware too so no need to bring plastic cups!
